Is Window's live free? Is it attached to Microsoft windows any version? Can I make my email extension match my website?
Thanks

Beginning March 16, 2014 - I get a message from Windows Live Mail that they are downloading new messages for my account (thousands of them), but they do not exist on my Sudden Link Account resulting in error codes - -x800CCC90 and then 0x800420CD.
Can you help me?

Hi
I just ordered a new computer with Windows 8, and while i am waiting am trying to change this computer's windows xp outlook express to Windows Live Mail.
There are 3 email accounts in Outlook Express and the main account transferred ok, but i am having trouble with the 2nd one. It is not my email account, but was transferred as a sub account into mine. How do i get it out? It won't check for email, says password is incorrect. Haven't tried the 3rd one yet. Thanks
Dear All,
Windows Live mail 2011 (on Windows 7 Ultimate) was working fine for several years and all of a sudden, a few days ago, it just stopped sending and receiving e-mails with no error code. I click send and receive and nothing happens, as if I never pressed it. When I close the program, wlmail is still present in the processes windows in Task manager and I have to end it manually. I finally uninstall it and install Live mail 2012. Everything works fine for two days and I get the same problem all over again. I go to add/remove programs in order to repair or uninstall Windows Essentials but nothing happens. When I click it again I get the message "Please wait until the current problem is finished uninstalling or being repaired".
I would try to uninstall it manually from a command line but I am afraid that there is another problem that I cannot figure out, because crashing after two days does not make any sense.
Could you please give me any advice on what to do because I now have to use other mail clients which I don't really like doing.
Thank you in advance.
Hi
I have two Yahoo email .co.uk accounts. Late last year (Nov?) I was prompted to change password on one account with a message from Yahoo that there had been attempts by an app based in US to access my account. I am in the UK. I believe that this may have coincided with a lot of other people also having problems with Yahoo mail.
I changed the password since when I have been unable to access mail from this account in Windows Live Mail. The other account which I didn't change works fine. (I have more recently changed the password on htis account and it still works).
I can access the problem account through my iPhone without problem, and I can access it via the web.
I have tried everything I can find online from varying the POP settings to deleting the account in Windows Live Mail and then re creating it all to no avail.
Current settings are
Outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk 587 with SSL
Incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk 995 with SSL
Have tried other port numbers, .com instead of .co.uk and other forms of authentication.
Log on using secure authentication (clear text authentication) all other options also tried
I get repeated requests for the password although it is entered correctly, and eventually the following error mesage:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo.co (name of account) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1240) Please verify your account by going to https://login.yahoo.com
Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
I have POP selected in the Yahoo Mail settings.
I am running Windows 7 using automatic updates and Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1
I keep receiving the email below. I have then validated my account several times and changed the password. However, I keep getting the same message.
When you say 'we required an extra security challenge' does that mean the hacker did not get into my account? Or did they still get in after answering the security challenge??
Is there anything else I can do to stop this, e.g. can I put a temporary block on access to my account from the US?
Thanks,
Dave
