Question about Outlook Express

Hello Good People of the Community:

This is my first post to your site.

My problem is not that I am not receiving any e-mails; it is just certain senders that are not coming through. I get a solicitations from a number of sites every morning. They are not there. I called a friend who sends me a joke every morning and he says he sent one today. Not there. Your welcome message came through as well a number of sites that I normally have sent to the junk file. It seems that it is only personal messages that are being blocked.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This malfunction occurred after I reinstalled my O/S (a twice a year operation to ensure I haven't picked up any virus' that may have slipped past my AV.)

I use windows live mail and have all my accounts in there.  When i try to add an event from WLM the event get scheduled to my windows calender just fine.  However the notification gets automatically set to sent the "Notification to device"  I have it set in the settings to default to my Hotmail that then would show up in an email in the WLM to remind me.  Can anyone help me to get these notifications to default to my Hotmail or even my gmail.

I presently have windows 8.1 Pro. Not by choice, but it is what it is. Keep in mind that I'm an old guy, who merely uses his computer for research and emails and has no interest in "apps, games, iclouds, etc,etc. In the past, with "Vista", I would open a blank email form, open a photo folder next to it and click and drag whatever photos I wished to send. I simply cannot figure out what to do now. I look forward to your help, thank you

I wish it resolves in a few minutes. I can't reach my mail sometimes for days.

I have to read and send mail trough the crappy webmail!

Ans this is going on for months now!

Is it so difficult to make a good e-mail program??
