I am using Windows 7. Have had Outlook/Windows Live Mail for many years with no problem.

About a week ago it stopped sending emails. Every email I try to send (dozens now) come back to my inbox with this message:

DELIVERY STATUS NOTIFICATION (failure)

postmaster.mail.hotmail.com

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

(Please note that there is no error code provided with any of these messages.)

No one has been able to find out the reason. (I do have over 30,000 messages in my inbox). Some suggest it is not in the mail application but in my Microsoft Account.  How about deleting this account and opening a new one? I am desperate at this point. Thank you.

I have Windows Live Mail 2011. As of yesterday it no longer opens. I also have the Windows 10 mailbox. How do I transfer email from Live Mail to the other. The message I keep getting is that Live Mail may not be installed properly, and also to check disk space. I have plenty of disk space. How will I get an answer to this if I can't open my email?
When on vacation, Windows Live Mail lost my password for entry into Email.  It has been restored.  Now I need a Password (lost too) for POP3.Live.com.  This is the server for sending and receiving Emails for Windows Live Mail.   How do I get this password?  It is one that has  - Remember Me - but is does not.

Original Title: windows live mail error message.

windows 8.1: Some emails, not all, I receive an Error message "a problem occurred while trying to oen this mail".  Has just begun last few days.  As I said, I can open most messages.  And, the messages are not from the same sender.  Seems random.

I am a little reluctant to try MS fix, pasting lines into registry.  Any suggestions?

I can't open a window to send or reply to an email in Windows Live Mail.  I found a post here that suggested running Windows Essentials to repair the problem; however, when I run Windows Essentials I get an error message that there is no internet connection when there is one--this is after the program has nearly run to completion.
I had a thread on after upgrading to Windows 10, I couldn't get Windows Live Mail to work. The thread just stopped...
