Hi, I have had windows live mail on my computer for 2 years without any issues. About a week ago it just stopped working and I received error code

'Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Server Error: '0x80004005' Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005'

I have tried the repair function and then uninstalled windows live mail 2011 and re installed windows live mail 2012. I use mcafee and have turned off the antispam option. I moved all my mail out of inbox in my hotmail website and have left a couple of new emails in my inbox and still nothing.

I have deactivated my account and set up a new account too...

Hi

I have the same problem, but unfortunately part  of your solution requires opening Windows Live Mail, which plainly is the problem - we can't!  I am running Windows Live 2012 on Windows 8.1, and have for some time now had to run the program as an Administrator for it to open properly each time.  However, it has now decided in the past few days not to open at all, sometimes eventually giving the same error message as above, but sometimes not.  The last update was a security update for IE, six days ago, and I think I did open Live the day after, but cannot be sure.  Please help - but without the idiotic advice to open WLM to backup!

PS. I have also run the repair function for WLE, which came us as successful.

Thanks

Lynne

Hello

My email account has been temporarily blocked for a week now.  I have tried unblocking it by requesting a code be sent to another email address.  When I enter this code it does not help.  It keeps saying my account is blocked.  I keep going around in circles.  Why when I enter the code that Windows sends me does it still not let me get access to my account.  It is very frustrating.  Even more frustrating is seeing all the posts about this problem but I see very few persons who have had any resolutions.  Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm new to Windows Live mail so I may be overlooking the obvious here.

At the moment, I can only view the past five days of emails in my inbox. Mails are sending /receiving no problem but actually viewing ALL my emails and its history going back months is the issuee. How do I do that? Is there a button to "next page"? Or is this a bug?

I don't understandwhy all mails are not being shown.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Christine

Hello,

I generally use Windows Mail App (windows 8.1) but as it lacks some features I thought of using Windows Live mail 2012 (part of windows essentials) now I'm facing some issues (listed below):

1. In Windows Mail App (App) we can configure our office mails (by adding Exchange type) and the email account works fantastically; where as in Windows Live Mail (LiveMail)** we have to set up exchange mail (office mails) either  using IMAP or POP type. so I setup as IMAP and it worked fine too.

2. In App the contact & Calender for the Exchange mail account is accessible directly whereas in LiveMail as its configured as IMAP account we cannot contacts of Exchange mail directly. but how to resolve this issue.

3. In addition to the point  2 I guess we have to configure the contact directory & Calender but how to get the configuration information for this. I tried a lot but could not succeed.

Thanks in advance.

Nishant

I have been having problems with Windows Live mail continuing to ask me for my password when I open the program, About 3 weeks ago I was able to get by the issue by downloading the latest update. This time it told me the program was already up to date. I tried to restore the computer using system restore but there was only one date due to a windows update and it said it was unsuccessful. I went to control panel to try to uninstall the program and it is not there. I tried to type %programfiles(x86)WindowsLiveInsaller. and I'm told there is no program but windows mail is still on my computer

OT: Remove windows mail without control panel.
