Question about Outlook Express

HAVE BEEN REVIEWING MY 3 ACCOUNTS IN HIS 8.1 FORMAT...

 MY ACCOUNTS .

I AM AT A LOSS. WHERE CAN I FIND THE COMMAND "SELECT ALL"

I NEED MORE INTUITIVENESS. I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO RELEARN A PROGRAM THAT I HAVE USED SINCE 2001.

I had a folder with someone's name as part of the title, decided to change to a name that included others, moved emails from the others to that folder--and, when I opened the folder, found all the emails from the original person were missing.

At some point, I looked for the deleted emails that I wanted back in the Deleted folder but never found them. 

Does changing a folder name delete the contents?

What else could I have done wrong?

What should I have done to preserve the original emails?

Is there anything I can do now to recover them?

Ever since I updated to 8.1 I have been having issues with Skydrive. Before the update, I could save a file to my skydrive folder and almost immediately access it through Skydrive on my Windows Phone. Now, however, I save a file and have waited HOURS before the file is accessible. I noticed that files saved to my "Skydrive" folder in 8.1 are not even accessible through the internet web app. The only way I was able to upload the file to the internet and then access the file from my phone was by manually uploading the file using the web app.

Skydrive worked so beautifully before, why the change? How can I get it working again?
