Can’t delete some msgs from inbox. If Rebuild doesn’t work, is the looong process of creating a new identity the ONLY option?

I've read the posts. Creating a new identity is complex and long (and I'm a novice). There HAS to be a simpler way to get rid of those non-deletable inbox emails.
