I have been using Windows live mail 2011 on a windows 7 computer for the last 6 years or so.  Have just purchased a new computer with windows 10, and purchased office 365 as well, and will use outlook 2016 as my email program.

I want to export my old emails and folders, etc to be able to use them in outlook 2016.  I follow the instructions to export in windows live mail and chose "Export email" > email messages > Microsoft exchange, and click next.  I get the dialogue box that says this will export WLM emails to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft exchange.  I click OK, and then nothing happens.  The dialogue box disappears and I am back at the previous box below:

The screen just stays there, and nothing happens.  From my other online searching, I should get a choice of which folders to export or something along those lines.  If I click "cancel", the dialogue box comes up saying the export isn't completed yet, are you sure you want to exit the wizard?   Nothing is happening in the background, so I have to exit.

I have always had automatic updates turned on.  Is there an update missing from my windows live mail install?  it is

Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308)

Note that I can export to the Microsoft Windows Live Mail format, but that does me little good as I can't import that into outlook 2016.

Please help.  Thanks, Darryl.
