Personally, I prefer the desktop client app, but it was uninstalled after the 8.1 upgrade.  I tried to re-download and reinstall but all I get is "Skydrive is preparing files for first time use" then it never resumes. So I switched to the modern tile app which is where I encountered the issue everyone seems to have.
