A few weeks ago I started getting the dreaded 0x800CCC0F error in Windows Live Mail, accessing our Gmail accounts. I have been using WLM for a couple years with no issue. I have two accounts, the main
one and my wife's. The issue is coming up on my wife's account most of the time when WLM started. However, when I click send/receive and click on my wife's account, it works just fine, so it does not appear to be a problem with the account settings. WLM receives
the main account without fail, but fails on the second account.
I even deleted the second account (bad move, deleted all my wife's emails) and added it again, but the problem stayed. I used a computer backup from a couple days before and restored the computer so that
my wife's emails returned. If not, I would have had to leave home. 8>(
I also tried WLM repair, no change.
I also tried setting up the account as IMAP, but did not like that because we use Message Rules to send incoming emails to many different folders, so that is not an option for us since Message Rules do not
work for IMAP.
Both accounts have the same settings, POP3, Remember Password, Log on using clear text authentication, outgoing port 465, incoming port 995, servers require secure connection (SSL), server timouts 1 minute
on the main account, set second account to 2.5 minutes with no affect.
I have been reading here and on other sites for days, but cannot find a fix. If I did not already have grey hair, this would do it! I have tried a couple different port settings suggested in various forums,
but since the account send/receive works when clicked on separately in send/receive, that does not seem to be a problem.
System is WIN 7 Home premium.
Any further suggestions?
