1. Enter your Microsoft account that you're trying to recover and type in the characters you'll see in the pictures
2. Hit Next.
3. Click "I can’t use any of these options".
4. Enter your Microsoft account you are trying to get back into
5. Enter a working alternate email address to where we can contact you.
6. Click “Next”.
7. Fill-out the form as accurate as you can and click “Submit”."
I filled out the form and submitted it, but got an automated reply 1 hour later telling me the following:
"Your Microsoft account [defunct account] was created using an email address from a provider other than Microsoft. To reset your password for this account, follow these steps:
- Click Here for the Microsoft account password reset page.
- Select an option and click "Reset your password".
- Enter your Microsoft Account, then enter the security characters, lastly click "Next".
- On the following page, select "Email me a reset link" and then click "Next".
- A reset link is now sent to your email address.
Should you require further assistance, please visit the Microsoft account Support Pages.
The account recovery request with issue number [issue number] has been closed."
Unfortunately, these steps only allow for you to reset your password to a CURRENTLY ACTIVE email account tied to your Xbox Live account, which I DO NOT have, hence me filling out that form in the first place. Exactly what steps do I need to take to retrieve my Xbox Live account beyond the steps that have been provided, since the processes above do not seem to work?
