Yesterday I read a comment on an Apple video editing forum about a way to de-interlace a video on a Mac computer.... saving to a custom profile at 1/2 of the source files pixel dimensions. The process will effectively de-interlace by dropping every other interlaced frame.  I wondered if it would also work with my Sony camcorder HD1080 AVCHD interlaced files when working on my Windows 8.1 system.

Today I made this short sample video to show the results if you use the source files without de-interlacing first, or if you effectively de-interlace by saving the movie at 1/2  the pixel dimensions.  I'll now stop taking my MM2012 projects to my Windows 7 laptop for rendering into movies.
