Hello,

I keep getting this error when I try to add images to my project.  The thumbnails appear with the yellow error triangle and the message says "The file might be corrupted or in a format that Movie Maker doesn't recognize.  This movie can't be saved or published until (file name) is removed from the project."  The only option presented is for me to remove the image from the project.

I know that the file format is supported because all the images I am using are .JPG and most of the images from the same batch (taken on the same day with the same camera on the same memory card) are added to the project without a problem.

I tried scanning one of the image files with my antivirus software to see if that would solve the possible "corruption" issue, but the image was given a clean bill of health and still received the same error when I tried adding it to the project again.

Following the suggestions of some of the other forum posts with this error code, I tried starting a new project to see if the images could be added if I saved the movie in parts, to be joined together later.  This did not work, the same error code popped up.

I also updated Java.

My computer is a Dell laptop running Windows 8.1 with Intel Core i7.  I have the 2012 version of WMM.  I have had the computer for less than a year, and there is plenty of RAM and hard disk space.  The images were taken with a Nikon DSLR in the JPEG-fine mode (I am not attempting to use RAW images).
