So, every time I try to shut down WLM, I get this "compacting" or "recovering space" or some such message.
It doesn't complete, and goes into search mode to try to find out why.
Then it restarts, and the last message seen has a 'this didn't shut down properly so we're not showing it to you - do you still want to see it?' sort of message; clicking 'show anyway' brings it right up.
So, how do I cure that behavior?
And, the first time I saw that, I was trying to group hard-delete (shift-delete/do you really want to do this?/yes) and the system froze.
The next time it started, after the above gyrations, in my main mailbox, where I collect all 4 POP accounts I monitor, there was nothing. Not a single mail in the "inbox" - which I remembered I'd avoided by creating an 'allrule' message rule and inbox in my collective inbox:
All-InBackup is the new message rule I made up after I discovered that I didn't any longer have an allrule mailbox, which is why the Inbox was empty.
In another thread I expose more detail, but I believe that there is a copy, somewhere, of the previous allrule mailbox. Within that thread, I hope to get that back.
However, I still have the compacting problem. How do I make that go away, and is there any possibility that it is/was related to the disappearance of a folder I'd set up within that first group (I left the others unexpanded, as they weren't affected at all)?
Thanks.
