I have been using WLM for years.  A few days ago, it began hanging whenever I try to open an attachment.  PDFs, Word/WP files, anything.  Sometimes it is possible to save it and open it, but even then WLM hangs after the save.  As suggested elsewhere, I unchecked the security option restricting opening of potential malware, and it did not help.  I did not install any new security software, including firewalls or virus checkers.  Windows 7, fully updated.
