WLM 2009 on XP to WLM 2012 on 8.1

I've purchased a new PC and want to copy my WLM contacts from the old PC on XP with WLM 2009 to the new PC with WLM2012 and 8.1

When I try to export the contact list in WLM 2009 the program just freezes, I've tried running a repair on it but it doesn't fix it.

I thought I could copy the contact list by logging on in WLM, but when I do this I loose the contact list as there is nothing in the logged on list.

Can I export the contact list to the logged on list then get it onto the new PC by logging on?
