I have had Windows Movie Maker running fine on Windows 10 for some time. After a crash and having to do a complete OS reboot I downloaded the Windows Essential install package but it will not install Movie Maker. I get the error message 0X80040705 at source D3DX10_42. After searching on this the advice I find is to uninstall any Windows Essential programs and delete the Windows Live folder from Program Files and Common Files, etc. I have done this repeatedly but to no avail. I continue to get the same error message when trying to install Movie Maker. Any ideas?
