In Movie Maker, when I do a split function I want to be very pin pointed where I split.  It's a 1 1/2 hour video so it is lengthy to scroll through even before zooming.

I first find the general area I want to do the split and place the cursor there then I zoom in to make the break at a very specific point but in the zoomed position it makes it very difficult to find the cursor. It zooms out from the beginning of the video, not from where the cursor is placed. (Which doesn't make sense to me.) To zoom in first, it takes forever to scroll to find the spot where I want to split. Is there a cursor finding keystroke? Or any other time saving hint.  I use Movie Maker on a weekly basis. Thanks.
