First, the link in the last post does not exist.

Second. I know for years I was able to output from windows movie maker a multitude of file formats MP4 included.

That was before I upgraded from windows 8 to windows 10 on my new pc. I may have reinstalled windows essentials along the way but I know that movie maker used to do it with a couple of clicks. I also see some  demos on youtube where the output is an mp4 file. So I know it can be done just don't  know how or what changed.

I still have my windows 8.1 system I just checked and Mp4 is one of the options when exporting a file.
