Until recently, I have been copying TV programmes direct onto a dvd, transferring them from the dvd to Movie Maker, and then editing them.

Now, the movie maker will not copy the video from the dvd. It is picking up a longer file, whose properties show the file was made on 1 January 2008!  I have tried the dvd in the Winx converter, which picks up the right file. I could of course use that, but I am used to Movie Maker and would like to continue to use that if I can. Apart from the issue with files from dvds, Movie Maker seems to be working fine with files from, say, youtube.
