Windows Movie Maker 2012  video NOT playing MP4

1. i created a screen record.

I  wanted to use   Windows Movie Maker 2012  to edit and trim add effect to my MP4 video.

i was able to play the video in movie maker. VLC player.

while i import the video into movie maker i am not seeing video. but i can hear the background music only.

i see a black screen only.

i can also import images into   Windows Movie Maker 2012 , i can see them playing in the screen.

very much frustrated. i tried reinstall   Windows Movie Maker 2012   4 times still have same problem. need help from experts.
