Hi, I have been trying to use Windows Movie Maker 2012 since yesterday. I managed to cut and splice my videos together perfectly and in the preview on Movie Maker itself it looked wonderful. However, there is an issue
with the output file. Initially I tried to save the output file as an mp4 format. A previous short clip (20 seconds) was created without any difficulties, however when I tried to save a longer clip (40 minutes, also in full hd settings) the mp4 file was unreadeable
with every possible video player (Windows Media Player, VLC, Media Player Classic, Divx Player, etc). I then found a post somewhere indicating that there have been more issues when saving longer movies in the mp4 format and that I should try saving it in WMV
format. When I tried that, I was initially pleased with the result because I could play the file in Windows Media Player at last. My joy was, however, short lived because after 24 minutes the video abruplty shut down. Media Player itself acknowledges that
the file is 40 minutes long and this is also confirmed by the properties of the video when selected in Windows. None of the other video players I used were able to let the file play for more than 24 minutes.
My question is: does anyone know of a solution to this problem? It would be greatly appreciated
Kind regards
Frederic
