I have Vista 64 and have used Windows Movie Maker extensively. Recently I had to replace my hard drive and, because Vista isn't supported, the only thing I could get was the Windows LIVE Movie Maker - not at all close to the quality and ability of Movie Maker. Not only doesn't it work as well, Live Movie Maker is very buggy. Half the time it doesn't have sound and I have to close and restart, sometimes many times, before that works itself out. It also doesn't have the timeline function and the ability to edit but leave the content in the program, only selecting the bits you want. I also can no longer use it to create DVDs with DVDStyler. (DVD Maker is limited and can only burn movies less than 2 1/2 hours - I mostly record and burn PBS shows.)

I have been trying to find a download for the old MM but the one I found doesn't work. I'm sure that part of the problem is the inability to update. I just don't understand how Microsoft can continue to just get worse instead of improving.

(I do use Freemake at times but it has some issues, too. I may have to just go there anyway!)
