I have been using WLMM for several years, for smaller video projects. Now I am making a larger project (an amateur documentary), and I want quality to be as high as I can get it.
But even though I get footage that is 720p, some even 60fps and look awesome on their own - WLMM lowers the quality. Whenever you add a video file which is HD (720p or higher), the program will "prepare" the footage. It then creates a copy which is put in a "Temp" folder. These files are always wmv (even though the originals are mp4 or avi, for example), take up more space than the original files, and are always 360p. So my awesome footage with 720p and 60fps looks awful in the movie maker.
Is there any way to go around this? I have looked at other programs altogether, but I really like WLMM otherwise, it is practical and easy to use. This is my only real complaint - it's essentially impossible to have HD with it, unless I've missed something (which I really hope I have).
