Hi, 

I am having some extremely frustrating issues with windows live movie maker 2012. not able to play videos. I am trying to import a file from a gopro which worked prior to me having to reinstall windows, due to a faulty HDD.

I have tried the following so far...

1. Uninstall windows live media maker, then reinstall,

2. Update the ATI mobility 5650 driver to latest driver

3. downloaded k-lite full codec pack

4. Run microsoft fixit tool

5. Disabled UAC and uninstalled/reinstalled

None of the above seem to work, 

The videos imports, and then optimizes, but then it does not play...the thumbnail is displayed in the time line as well. the laptop is a Dell 1749 with windows 7 Home premium.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Video plays fine in windows media player.
