WHY WON'T WINDOWS LIVE MAIL SEND or RECEIVE MAIL?

Errors:

Unable to send or receive messages for for the Eastlink (XXXX) account

An unknown error has occurred

Server: 'pop.eastlink.a'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005

Protocol: POP3

Port: 110

Secure (SSL): No

I read that if I changed the port numbers from 110 and 25 to 995 and 587 or 465 respectfully, that that would solve the issue. It did not.

With 995 and 465 as port numbers, I received a new error:

Server: 'pop.eastlink.a'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC19

Protocol: POP3

Port: 995

Secure (SSL): No

HOW CAN I RESTORE MY MAIL SO I CAN SEND AND RECEIVE EMAILS?
