Oh geez, I am having the same problem.  I just downloaded Win Live Mail to backup some emails - actually to backup two specific subfolders - only those two are the only ones that didn't sync correctly!  Uggggh.  Everyone else did.  I keep seeing an error message 1 of 2 tasks, but it won't give me any details.  Someone please help before I give up & get a Mac.  I have a Win 7 64-bit system using Hotmail.  Also, is there a setting after I download them so it won't sync up anymore?  I don't want to sync my emails, I'm doing this to get a copy of some old emails for legal purposes only.  After that, I'm fine.
