Just a few days ago - Windows Live Mail - which has been operating on Windows 10 since I installed 10 months ago stopped working and I get the following message

Unable to send or receive messages for the Charter (xxxxxx) (1) account. Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Could not download new messages from the IMAP server.

Server Response: The server did not respond to this IMAP command before the connection was terminated.
Server: 'IMAP.charter.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): No

I have run Essentials repair - I have tried switching to POP - I have contacted the server techies also - but to no avail.  I have created a new account - and it added all the data from the IMAP account on this computer - but then failed with the same message when the 'get' tried to execute.

Also tried to sync Windows 10 new mail program - and it will not sync.

Is this a Windows 10 problem - if so it is new?  If it is a server problem - then they should have experienced this with other customers.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
