I use Windows 8.1.  My husband uses Windows 10. We both experienced the same problems with Windows Live Mail client application recently.

When he booted his system and tried to open the Windows Live Mail client application, he was unable to do that.  The "circle" that was formerly an hourglass just kept spinning.  This happened on Friday, 8/28.

The same thing happened to me today, 8/30.

I did a system restore on both systems - his on Friday and mine today - to August 19 which was the day before our last Windows updates.  After that we were both able to open the application and access our saved emails.  

I am trying to determine the root cause of this problem and am wondering if others had the same issue.
