Ok I have a weird one here guys. I have been using windows live mail for about 2 years now with no problems. I recently changed my website server from a shared server to a dedicated server. When doing this, I re-added my account to windows live mail. I have set it up using imap. Once this was done, the inbox tab showed up below my email address as normal, but all of the other folders like trash, sent, drafts, etc were sub folders of the inbox. The inbox synced fine. Emails would send and receive fine, but would not go into the sent mail tab below the inbox tab. I checked the webmail client online and the email did not register in the online sent folder either, but the email was definitely sent. I even tested it by sending an email to myself. I received the email, but it was not put in the sent folder on live mail or on the webmail.
I then went to account properties imap and the root folder was empty. So I typed in 'Inbox' exactly the way it is listed on the webmail and refreshed the list. When this happened, inbox disappeared completely, but all of the other folders started to sync with the server. ie. the sent emails, trash, all of the work that was done via the webmail was synced.
My question is how do I get the inbox working without the sub folders. Seems either way I do this, it would make one work and not the other. My feeling is it is a server issue, but they said it was a Microsoft issue. But, thunderbird wouldn't work either. The only thing that has changed is the server.
Would you guys have any thoughts or advice of something I haven't tried yet?
