I'm having the same issue. 

I logged a bug with Microsoft so lets see if they can solve my issue. Feel free to help me debug.

Here is the contents of my bug:

Windows Live Mail not showing "Sent" (not to be confused with Sent Items folder) folder. 

Emails sent from WLM should be saved in "Sent Items" folder but are not being saved. They are being saved in the "Sent" folder because I can see then when using my iPhone AND if I use the web version of Outlook. 

Outlook tries to save the sent email to the "Sent" folder so I highly suspect there is a conflict between the two mail tools. My work around is to open the "Sent" folder under my hotmail account on my iPhone and forward a sent email back to my inbox.
TO make matters worse...If I try to create a new "Sent" folder in my WLM tool, I get an error message when WLM tries to sync with the server. If I remove the "Sent" folder I tried to create, the error goes away. I hope that helps you solve this.
