I run Outlook 2013 on my Windows 8.1 Desktop which is associated with my G-Mail account.  When new e-mails come into my Inbox, I hear my audio notification.

For testing purposes, I configured Windows Live Mail to use my AOL Account.  When "new" emails come into this "Inbox", I hear no audio notification.

Within "Sound" of Control Panel, both "Desktop Mail Notification" and "New Mail Notification" use the same wav file and when I test them both I hear the audio notification.

Within "Change PC Setting" --> "Search and apps" --> "Notifications"

    * "Play notification Sounds" is turned on.
    * "Quiet hours" are set from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM
    * "Show notifications" turned on for the "Mail" App.
    * "Show notifications" turned on for the"Outlook 2013" app.

Within "Settings" option for Windows Live Mail, under the "Permission", "Allow this app to show notifications" is on.

I cannot figure out why I'm not hearing the audio notifications for new mail in Windows Live Mail when I can hear them in Outlook 2013.

Could it be because I have both Windows Live Mail and Outlook 2013 on the same computer?

Anyone know why this is happening?

BTW - I am trying to solve this for another friend who only has Windows Live Mail installed (No Outlook).
