We have about a dozen users who are using Windows 7 Pro but don't use Office but have need of e-mails. We went for the Windows Live Mail option and it works well for most of the users. There are, however, two exceptions at this point, who for no apparent reason started getting the following message when trying to send e-mails

The connection to the server has failed

Subject XXXXXXXXXX

Server {servername}

Windows Live Mail Error ID 0x800ccc0e

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 25

Secure (SSL): No

Socket Error: 10013

The account in ALL cases has been setup as IMAP for both incoming and Outgoing servers using the default ports.

I even went as far as re-installing Windows on the one machine and reinstalling all the appropriate drivers and software. This machine worked for about a week when the same thing started to happen.

On the other machine I deleted the mail account and re-created it but that did not solve the problem.

I also know that there have been MANY question posted about this same error but they all seem to have an outside ISP connection and not the domaon / exchange server situation that I have here

Is there anyone out there that cab shed some light here?
