When I open Windows Live Mail 2012, the start up mast appears and the little circle spins...and spins...and spins... so basically I can't get past the start-up screen. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. Didn't work. I tried a system restore. Didn't work. I also tried the Windows 8 version of chkdsk to make sure I wasn't having a hard disk issue. The drive is healthy.

The problem started 24 hours ago.
