this has been covered on the internet but no answers that work so far.

until this morning, my windows live mail 2011 worked just fine.

i am running windows 7 and using a verizon e-mail address.  i actually purchased rights to keep my verizon e-mail address after switching to time warner several months ago (verizon offers no fast internet options at my location).

i confirmed with time warner this morning that all settings are good.  of course they are.  everything worked fine yesterday, the day before, etc., since switching over.

i called verizon this morning and confirmed everything was good.

the error message when i try to send or receive e-mails is listed in the title.

verizon DOES NOT offer alternate server ports -- all i can use are smtp 465 and pop3 995.

i have rebooted the program and the computer multiple times today.

the second and third time a bunch of stuff updated and reconfigured.

still nothing.

i had a lot of e-mails in the system but i deleted about 75% of them -- in the inbox and in the delete file.

any ideas on why it just stopped and how to fix it?

thanks.

jeff
