I have been using Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) for several years, I choose to download my mail from my provider's webmail server (Virgin Media UK).
Having checked my mail several times yesterday, at 2330 I did a final check but got the error message below: (I thought nothing of it at the time and shut down my laptop)
Unable to send or receive messages for the Blueyonder.co (adieboyes) account. The connection to the server has failed.
Server: 'pop3.virginmedia.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10013
I attempted to download my mail again first thing this morning, but got the same error response. I did some digging online, and changed some settings, no joy, changed them back again to the original, still no joy. I even removed the Virgin media account from Windows Live Mail, then added it again again - I still got the same error.
Eventually, I went to the Virgin Media webmail page to chaeck my email there. The site was down, and was displaying a message about server issues, which explains the issues I was experiencing. However, the site is now up and running, and I am still getting the same error message in Windows Live Mail.
I have checked that the account settings are correct:
Can anyone shed any light on this issue, or point me in the right direction to sort it out please?
Cheers,
Adie
