Original title: Windows Live / Hotmail errors

I am using a new PC running Windows 8.  I have a Hotmail account and another email account.  For some reason, within the last three or four days, I keep getting error messages (see error information below) and on the lower right corner of the taskbar "Updating Calendar" keeps flashing on and off?  I have the same accounts on another PC, that is running Windows 7, that isn't showing any problems with the email program.  Could this be a problem with the calendar updating feature? 

Server error: 3204

Windows Live Mail Error ID:  0x8DE20003

An additional message:  Server: 'https://mail.service.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'

What do I need to check?  Could it be that I am still using the old Hotmail account and I have not upgraded to the newer Outlook program?  How can I tell what version I am using?
