I am following the advice to start a new question instead of posting another comment on page 4 of the existing one...

I have the same issue as a lot of others with duplicated contacts (sometimes more than 10) but not identical info in all, so I want a merge of all info into one contact for each name.

The issue has been duplicated on all my MS devices including phones, PCs and Pads.

Going into Live Mail I can activate the Clean Up button by loging into my MS account, and when pressing the button I am transferred to the account homepage, but then what? I can find no relevant next step to actually start the clean-up. What am I missing?
