Windows Live Mail acts erratically – I keep getting message The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server

I have been trying to use Live Mail with IMAP protocol

It worked OK for a while (a month or two) and then I keep receiving a message 

The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server

Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors

How do I deal with this please?

I'd really appreciate your help.
