I was writing a complex email in Windows Live Mail 2011 and as I hit the send button I received a message that Windows Live Mail had a problem. The email showed that it had not been sent but was in the Outbox folder. When I tried to open the email to see if it was all there I received a message that "The contents of this message cannot be found" and that "a problem occurred while trying to open this message and to please try again". The email now shows up in the draft folder. The email shows an unopened envelope along with the title of the email and the beginnings of the list of email recipients along with the time that I tried to send it. I contacted Tech support and they had me do a sfc/scannow from the Command prompt as Admin. That scan showed no problems. Then they had me try a Scanhealth and a Restorehealth from the Command prompt as Admin. Neither .exe was recognized by my computer (OS Windows 10) as a viable command. Then they had me try a command, Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} via Powershell. Again my computer did not recognize the command.
In my trying to get more Tech support they finally told me they no longer supported Windows Live Mail and to go to Microsoft Community. In looking through solutions in Microsoft Community I tried to repair Windows Live Mail 2011. That did not help with my email situation. So then I decided to upgrade to Microsoft Essentials 2012 (Mail only). That did not help.
Is my email still there and how can I access it? I don't want to have to try to recreate it if I don't have to. Thanks for any help in this. My operating system is Windows 10, 64 bit.
