I'm running Windows 10 (hate it) and use Windows Live Mail 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308) as my mail client. I also use Mozilla Firefox 47.0 as my browser. ans Avast free antivirus. Recently, I started experiencing inbox duplication and server problems and my ISP told me I was on a POP server and needed to change to IMAP and they walked me through creating a new account. Took me days to migrate all my folders (I know, probably was an easy way via export/ import, but it's done now). I then deleted my old account and renamed my new one to be the same name as the old. I've had nothing but problems ever since. My spam filters (self-created under "Folders/Message Rules") do not work. Upon exit, my deleted messages are not permanently deleted from the deleted folder even though I've set them to be under

"Options/Mail/Advanced/Maintenance". Which leads me to wonder why I now seem to have two "Deleted Items", Sent Items" and "Drafts" folders, the second set under a root folder called "Storage Folders" which I never remember seeing before. What are "Storage Folders" as opposed to all the folders I have created just under my account name, and what are they as opposed to the the three same named folders already there under my account name populated automatically when I created the account? Oh yeah, now sending seems to take longer before it leaves the "Outbox" folder and appears in my "Sent Items" folder. Plus I get a message with each received and sent message that it has not yet been downloaded and I have to click on a link to see the message either in the preview pane or directly. Plus, why when I sign on or click on the "Send/Receive" button does the program check ALL of my personal folders? This takes a lot of time and never happened before. Previously, I would get on the bottom status bar, a simple series of messages such as "Signing in to server", "Receiving mail", "n# of new messages" or "No new messages", all in a matter of seconds. Now it takes forever and I never get a clear indication of my status. Finally, I often get a pop up box saying some action could not be sent to the server. I'm sure someone is going to say resolve this with my ISP, but maybe someone has encountered some or all of these problems as well.
