I'm having an issue with Movie Maker on my windows 8 laptop, which I refuse to upgrade to windows 10. I am perfectly able to open up Movie Maker, and I can add captions. The problem begins when I select a caption and click ctrl+C or manually copy, then try and past that caption somewhere else in the video. The moment I paste it, Movie Maker will freeze, and will do nothing. I can not interact with the program whatsoever, and Movie Maker will not even show "(not responding)" next to the name on the top for a while after. I have tried changing the compatibility settings, and even turned it off completely, but to no avail. I will open the program back up, and click on the "restore project" button on the window that pops up saying that Movie Maker didn't shut down correctly last time. Sometimes I click it and try again, sometimes I don't, but no matter what I click, the moment I click paste after copying the caption, Movie Maker will freeze, and I am forced to yet again force quit the program in task manager. One time when I encountered this issue, I just went on to manually insert each caption and change each caption's font and size until I tried, and succeeded to copy and paste a caption 2 hours later. I've tried doing that again, but for ten minutes, yet it won't work. Could anyone please help me?
