Hi, Well, the plot thickens. All has been well since the above I went through some hoops under the guidance of the good folk here, to collect all my accounts' mail in one place. The "allrule" collected all the incoming mails, and all 4 of my accounts, listed below, got all of their mail in their own folders, had their own drafts, sent and other files unique to that account when used to those ends. However, this morning, as I was trying to delete several mails in the "allrule" folder, the one I keep open, the program stopped responding. No worries, I'll go over to Chrome and continue what I was doing there. But when I got back, I was presented with white space - which, after many diversions trying to find how to restore mails which suddenly disappear, turned out to be, I determined, the 'inbox' which came with the setup - not allrule. And, as 'inbox' had no accounts associated with it (no email servers to visit), it was always empty. If you were involved in the early days of my original setup, you might remember when I was trying to set up a mail rule to put a copy of everything, it wasn't available, when I tried to make a mail rule copying every mail into the inbox, to prevent looping. Back to the story... Worse - but with some hope of it being simple - allrule is no longer in view. Fact of the matter is that I don't really remember, for sure, what the name of that folder is/was - might have been allmail, might have been allrule, or some other name - but it's gone. So far, searching for a file by that/either name hasn't produced, and the only trashcan item near today (yesterday) is empty in recycle bin in general. I also somehow have no Windows Live Essentials file, which (maybe??) would allow me to repair, which I think I may have done at some time in the past. In wandering around trying to find THAT, I saw that there were two files when I went looking for the mailstore folder. Both were created today, and MIGHT be in the size range of the 'allrule' or whatever else I might have named it. But one was only a quarter-gig, and the other a half. That there are two of them nearly double/half size, makes me nervous about trying to use them, for fear of disrupting something permanently. I have no ability to look into those folders, either (or, at least, MS can't find a key when it goes looking for the program to open it). Info point is that I've had a demand to recover lost space on shutdown; those fail, and it tries again, and eventually sez it can't, and shuts down after trying to solve the problem. I can't find the mail store folder to back it up, either, at the moment, as it's clearly not either of the two which come up on my search: This is the other one: So, WLM is corrupted somehow, and I can't seem to find the mail store to back it up in case of disaster, or WLE, of which I think I remember having and using only the mail feature - but that might have been on the laptop which created an identity issue earlier ☺ - to try to repair via WLEssentials repair button. Hayulp. Thanks. L8R Skip | |
