Hello Microsoft Community,

I have been experiencing an issue for the past few weeks on the 2017 Microsoft Surface Pro I purchased this summer. Although, most applications on the device works seamlessly, the File Explorer application has started to experience bugs. I can still open files that I can find on my desktop or elsewhere, but if I try to open the file explorer to look for a file it ends up freezing and crashing. Sometimes immediately after opening, other times I can open certain folders but specific folders will cause the "not responding" error. If I try to open the 'This PC' file, the application will try to load the file with no success after 30 minutes of waiting. Using other applications can be problematic as well. If I try to insert a picture in OneNote or PowerPoint, it will freeze if I try to open certain folders. I have thought about bringing it to a technician, but I'd rather fix the problem myself because I'm in school and I need to have constant access to my notes and files. Any help would be much appreciated!

David
