When I click on the two envelopes labeled send/receive in the tools section of the ribbon, using Windows Live Mail 2012, sometimes, I get a window that pops open showing me which account is being accessed and the progress of downloading mail via a green progress bar.  This is how things worked in Windows Mail with Vista.  I switched to Windows Live Mail while still using Vista.  I then upgraded to Windows 7.  I rarely get this window to open.  I do see progress down at the bottom right of the screen in small letters.  This window always pops up when there is an error in downloading mail such as when one of my servers does not respond.  I hope there is a setting somewhere that I can select to get the pop up window every time.  To be honest, it seems like it is a ghost of Vista Windows Mail trying to haunt me.
