Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, on a 2015 HP laptop, Windows movie maker WMM 2012.

I have MP4 and AVI video files.  I downloaded the Win 7 Codecs but WMM still won't recognize these file types.  

Any suggestion what to do next?
