In the last few days I have suddenly noticed that literally thousands of the files that I had saved on Skydrive have suddenly disappeared. For example, in one particular directory I had about 1300 MS Word documents and now only the 6 most recent documents are appearing. Various other directories have disappeared entirely.

 How can this have happened and what can I do about the files I have lost?
