Why does a message that comes in my inbox shows as a new meassage after I read it and delete , go out of Hotmail, but when I come back to Hotmail, it shows as an unread message ?

My inbox will show me that I have a new message, I click on it and read it. I then either delete it or just leave it there ( showing it has been opened ).

 

When I go out of Hotmail and come back to it, the message ( above) that I have read or deleted shows as a new message in my Inbox
