why can’t i log in to my windows live email I never had to use a password before. Now it is asking me for one. i entered the one a have a record of, but it doesn’t work?

I cannot log into my windows live mail account.  It asks for a password (which I never had to do before)  when I enter the one I have a record for, it says it is incorrect.
