I don't know what happened one day I just noticed that my phone wasn't connecting to my email.  I reinstalled my email address to my phone and would always say I had no messages if I refreshed it. So I went to my PC and accessed the my email and I noticed a POP folder under the deleted folder.  I opened it and all my new email was in it.  After days of trouble shooting I still can't figure out what's wrong.  I stopped synching this email to my phone and my mail still goes to the POP folder.  I also went to the POP/Forwarding options and tried both options. None of them worked.
