HELP....if anyone can help with this I need you urgently.

A couple of weeks ago Windows Live Mail had a catastrophic fail resulting in me losing several important email storage folders.  While some folders were recovered, one seriously important one while appearing to be recovered was not.  All the stored Sent and Received emails appeared to be listed but on clicking on one of them the original message was no longer there, instead a TrendMicro image was there and the strangest thing was that this "supposed" email containing the TrendMicro image instead of the other message, was addressed to an old TPG account of mine which is no longer used and hasn't been used for several years, other than to have emails redirected to my new address.

I have no idea what I can do to recover the original messages or even if it's possible but I would appreciate any insight any of you might have into this problem and also tell me if a catastrophic fail like this is likely to happen again.
